Bleeding brakes will ensure that old fluid is removed from the ABS unit, and more importantly remove any residual air that could remain in the control circuit of the ABS system.
Once you have run the specific bleed test, repeat the brake bleed again, and watch for any air coming from the system. If any air was released, you should repeat the bleed and bleed test procedures, until there is no more air in the system.
