The HEX GS-911 WIFI

The GS-911wifi is the second generation of the GS-911 tool, and uses USB or WiFi to connect to your phone, tablet or computer.

Emergency and offline service functionality is provided for Microsoft Windows with the GS-911 Diagnostics PC App.

Emergency and online cloud functionality is supported on iOS, Android, Mac and other platforms with the GS-911wifi Web App.

Ready-to-start checklist

To register and configure your device, ensure you have the following:

The GS-911 WiFi device
An internet connection on your Mac or PC or phone.
Optionally a connection to your PC or Mac using the supplied USB cable.

Download the GS-911 software

GS-911 supports various hardware and operating system combinations and our software can always be found on the Downloads page.

using windows usb

For Windows with USB usage, download and install the GS-911 Diagnostics application.

using wifi

If you do not have a Windows PC but a Mac, download and install the GS-911 WiFi Utility for Mac.

If you want to use the GS-911 WiFi device Web App, download the GS-911 WiFi Launcher from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Register your GS-911wifi

The life of every GS-911 device starts with registration. This activates your device, marks the start of the warranty period and requires an internet connection.

Power the device using the USB cable or a bike diagnostic port.
Open the GS-911 Diagnostics Application or device Web page.
When asked, submit your full name and a valid email address. These details are required for support and warranty purposes. A confirmation email will be sent to complete the process.
After registration, check your email inbox. Once you receive your GS-911 registration email, click on the validation link in the body of the email.
If you have still not received the registration validation email after an hour, please check your spam folder and email settings. Reattempt the registration process and check that your email address is correct. If you still do not receive an email after these steps, please contact us at support@hexgs911.com

using Diagnostics app

Register the device using the [Registration] link in the application main menu and provide your user details in the opened browser window.

using IOS/Android

First configure the device to connect in Infrastructure mode as described in section 4, then register the device using the [Registration] link in the application main menu.

using GS911 Wifi utility

The GS-911wifi utility app should detect a USB connected device and display its serial number. The (1)[Device registration] button opens the (2)registration page in your browser.

Configure your GS-911 wifi

using Diagnostics app

Navigate to Setup->Wifi Setup.

Press the (1)[Scan for Networks] button to refresh the detected WiFi list or (2) choose the desired WiFi access point.

Type the required (3) network password and select the (4)[Connect] button to connect.

using Android/IOS

Ensure the GS-911 WiFi device is in D2D mode and connect your phone to the GS-911 device’s Access Point / Hotspot. The WiFi network will start with GS911_ and end with the last 4 digits of the GS-911 device’s serial number.

Use the GS-911 WiFi App to locate the GS-911 device or browse to http://10.0.0.1

Configure an Infrastructure connection similar to the Diagnostic App.

On the GS-911wifi Utility app window, expand the [Configure WiFi] section.

Click the (1) [Scan for networks] button. It will list all the (2) WiFi networks that have been found in the range of your GS-911wifi device. Select your network SSID and enter the (3) WiFi network password , then click the (4) [Connect to network] button to join this network.

The top section of the GS-911wifi Utility (5) will show the WiFi network to which your device is connected.

The ‘devices detected on WiFi section’ (6) will display the serial and IP numbers of all connected GS-911wifi devices. Click the [Refresh device list] button to see an updated list. Doubleclick the device or select [Open diagnostic web app] to open in a browser.

Using iOS and Android devices

Search for GS-911wifi on Google Play or the iTunes App Store and install.
Ensure your mobile device and GS-911wifi are on the same WiFi network.
Use the GS-911wifi Launcher app to connect to your device and start ‘browsing your bike’.

WHEN YOU ARE OFF THE BEATEN TRACK:

Switch your GS-911 WiFi interface to D2D mode.
Connect your mobile device to the WiFi network which name starts with “GS911_”.
Use the GS-911 WiFi Launcher app or connect to http://10.0.0.1 and start browsing your bike.
