Cosa sono i dati statistici FASTA?

FASTA (Fahrzeugbetriebs- und Servicedaten-Transfer und -Analyse) is vehicle metric data collected by the engine and ABS controllers to evaluate real-word performance over the lifetime of the vehicle. It samples various variables (like RPM and Speed) at regular intervals and saves these values in groups (bins with specific ranges) inside the controller.

The FASTA data can be retrieved using the GS-911 device and this can then, over time, begin to indicate statistical trends when viewed as a histogram.

A typical graph of Engine RPM indicating 7 ranges and the percentage of time spent in each range over the lifetime of the vehicle, can be seen below. The number of samples in a given time period always amounts to less data than the sampling period as the counter only counts full intervals e.g. a minute spent in the bin interval. Time spent in a bin interval below the threshold sample time, gets discarded.
